We’ve been keeping an eye on Octopath Traveler for a while now, and after all of the teasing and trailers we finally have a release date: July 13, 2018.
The most recent Nintendo Direct revealed more information about the game, which seems to have dropped “Project” from its title, including two more protagonists — Alfyn and Tressa.
Tressa is a merchant that has the ability to purchase items from nearly everyone in the realm, allowing her to track down items not found in stores and fulfill requests for items made by other characters. Alfyn is an apothecary with the ability to attain detailed information on people within the realm. This enables him to uncover closely held secrets, find the location of hidden items, and more.
A special edition of Octopath Traveler was also announced for Switch, which will include a pop-up book that introduces the game’s eight protagonists and places of origin, a map, soundtrack CD, and a replica coin of the game’s currency.
Will you be picking up Octopath Traveler in July? If so, will you be buying the special edition? Let us know in the comments.
