In just a few short days, Nintendo will hold a global event detailing the upcoming launch of the Switch. Anticipation for the system’s impending March release is already high, but any news at this point should give fans even more reason to get excited.
At CES 2017 over the weekend, Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang briefly discussed Nintendo’s upcoming console-handheld hybrid. While Huang did not provide in-depth detail, his comments did offer an optimistic outlook for the system’s future.
“Nintendo Switch is a game console. It’s very Nintendo. That entire experience is going to be very Nintendo. The beauty of that company, the craft of that company, the philosophy of that company—they’re myopically, singularly focused on making sure that the gaming experience is amazing, surprising, and safe for young people, for children. Their dedication to their craft, that singular dedication, is quite admirable. When you guys all see Switch, I believe people are going to be blown away, quite frankly. It’s really delightful.”
Nvidia clearly has some vested interest in the Switch’s success, but it certainly bodes well to see this kind of confidence exhibited by Nintendo’s partners. Hopefully fans will feel just as confident when Nintendo reveals more about the system on Thursday.
