A healthy week of downloadable software offerings is upon us, dear readers! Read on for all the big releases and deals the eShops have to offer.
Switch Download
Oceanhorn—Monster of Uncharted Seas– $14.99—Fans of The Wind Waker and adventure games should have Oceanhorn on their radars. It was originally released four years ago on iOS, but developer Cornfox & Bros. reworked the title to play on current-gen hardware. Oceanhorn has a bevy of block-pushing puzzles, sword combat, and bomb bursting that Zelda fans will find very familiar. It’s a solid title, though, which we’ll cover soon in a review!
ACA NeoGeo Fatal Fury 2 – $7.99—Another classic NeoGeo fighting game has arrived on Switch, replete with all the bells and whistles (re: awesome new features) that fans of the ACA series are accustomed to. If you’ve been enjoying Ultra Street Fighter II, definitely consider downloading Fatal Fury 2!
3DS Download
Ever Oasis – $39.99—Did you enjoy The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D? Then know that the studio that handled remake duties for that Nintendo 64 classic, Grezzo, is behind this new IP on 3DS. Recruit allies, rebuild your oasis, and become a beacon of hope in the toasty corner of the desert that you’ll be calling home! An action/adventure RPG, Ever Oasis is set to keep you busy with your 3DS this summer.
RPG Maker Fes – $39.99—It might sound lazy to compare this game to Super Mario Maker, but that’s genuinely what RPG Maker Fes is aiming to be: a way for everyday fans to make their own games, in this case RPGs. Utilize a suite of powerful and intuitive tools in order to craft characters, dialogue, and combat, then upload it all for others to enjoy.
Separate from this download is RPG Maker Player. It’s a free bit of software that allows you to play the creations of other users from all around the world. That’s right, you don’t have to have RPG Maker Fes in order to experience everyone else’s unique concoctions! Available 06.27.2017.
Sonic Sale

Magical Drop II – $7.99—This is a classic Data East arcade title that will be joining Hamster’s exceptional ACA series of NeoGeo re-releases. It plays similar to Bust-A-Move, but rather than ricochet colored balls at different angles to form matching chains of three or more, Magical Drop II instead tasks players with pulling the radiant spheres down from the top of the playing field and shooting them back skywards. Rearrange the balls to form matching chains and defeat your opponent! Definitely a game that’s more on the obscure side, but also worthy of a look for puzzle fans.
