During today’s Nindies Showcase, Nintendo officially revealed No More Heroes: Travis Strikes Again, the latest entry in the No More Heroes series, which is being developed by Grasshopper Manufacture.
Originally announced by Suda51 back in January at the Switch press event, we now have our first look at the game in the below trailer:
As described by Nintendo’s Damon Baker:
Seven years have passed since the events of No More Heroes and The Bat is here to exact his revenge on Travis for the murder of his daughter Bad Girl. Just as the battle begins the two men are inhaled by a phantom game console, the Death Drive Mark 2. The only way out — beat all six games and their respective bosses.
The game is being developed in collaboration with a number of prominent developers, so it is likely that each of the six games will be drastically different. With an image of Hotline Miami shown after the game’s trailer, it is safe to assume that Dennaton Games is one of the indie developers involved.
No More Heroes and its sequel No More Heroes 2 were both released on Wii and were notable for being incredibly self-referential and (unusually for Wii games) their mature content. Based on the trailer, these themes appear to be returning alongside Travis for this entry.
No More Heroes: Travis Strikes Again is a Switch exclusive and is coming to the console in 2018.
