One week after the launch of Nintendo Switch Online, the service’s mobile companion app has now been downloaded more than 5 million times, according to app analytics company Sensor Tower.

This includes downloads across both iOS and Android as well as those both before and after the launch of the Nintendo Switch Online service on 18 September. As can be expected, the number of downloads increased significantly in the week that the service went live, up from 70,000 in the previous week to 123,000.

The US saw the biggest leap in the number of installs of the app, but all regions saw an increase to some extent. Based on the latest figures available, the total number of downloads equates to around 25 percent of Switch’s install base.

The Nintendo Switch Online app itself has been available since July 2017, but the release of the new paid-service naturally led to renewed interest in the app. Of course, these figures don’t show how happy users are with the service or whether the app is still being used by those who downloaded it.
