If you thought Nintendo’s E3 2021 showcase was a bit underwhelming, well… this might help? Nintendo Switch OLED Model is certainly not the “Switch Pro” that has been rumored for years now. It boasts some improvements but they’re superficial, with no changes coming to the internals of the hardware beyond a doubled internal memory. Not that 64GB is anything to write home about. Ah well, let’s focus on the positive, which is the baseline model of Switch finally getting a refresh that brings some requested improvements to the fore. But first: the trailer!

Here’s an overview of what the OLED Model is bringing to the table:

  • 7-inch OLED screen with vivid colors and crisp contrast
  • A wide adjustable stand for tabletop mode
  • A new dock with a wired LAN port
  • 64GB of internal storage
  • Enhanced audio for handheld and tabletop play

All of these new goodies are joined with a slightly redesigned dock; it’s white, has rounded edges, and a new backplate that’s easier to open. The OLED Model also comes with white Joy-Con. Nintendo Switch OLED Model will launch on October 8, which puts it right in time for the launch of Metroid Dread. Expect to pay $349.99 for all these fancy, fresh bells and whistles.
