Nintendo Switch continues to be a sales juggernaut both abroad and at home, as recent sales numbers attest. According to Japanese video game sales tracker Media Create, Nintendo has sold nearly four million units of its Switch console since the system’s launch back in March of last year. When this number is averaged with Famitsu’s estimated sales total for Switch (which clock in at over four million units sold), the picture is clear: Nintendo has four million Switch systems in Japanese homes.
That’s nothing to sneeze at and continued proof that Switch is far from a flash in the pan. The console is doing gangbusters at home, nearing the lifetime sales totals of GameCube in the region, a number that Switch will likely soon surpass. Globally, Nintendo has estimated Switch sales to be somewhere around 14 million. The future looks bright for Nintendo’s hybrid console!
