Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door was confirmed this past MAR10 Day to be coming out on May 23, 2024. That is not too far away in the grand scheme of things, and thus the PR machine is beginning to kick in for the game’s impending launch. That means between now and then, fans can look forward to a steady stream of looks into the return of The Thousand Year Door, beginning with this delightful storybook trailer that sets the stage for the Mario’s next adventure:
This entire intro is now animated, which fans of the GameCube original have been quick to notice and be excited about. Indeed, there are a lot of expectations surrounding this rerelease given how highly The Thousand Year Door is regarded among fans. Whether or not it will suffer from censorious changes like Super Mario RPG remains to be seen, but hopes are high that this is a faithful adaptation with only its visuals renovated.
