Prior to launching The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Nintendo announced their plans to keep the adventure going with the release of additional content later in the year. Now, Nintendo has released the first details about the first round of DLC scheduled to come out sometime this summer.

Perhaps the biggest addition to the game is Hard Mode, which ups the difficulty by upgrading every enemy to higher level forms that are harder to sneak up on and have regenerating health. This mode will also add floating platforms, suspended in the air by Octorok balloons, spread out across the land that have either enemies or treasure chests on them. The next major new feature in terms of content is the Trial of the Sword, a gauntlet in which Link starts out without any gear and has to battle through 45 rooms of progressively harder enemy encounters with the reward being a permanently powered up Master Sword.

The DLC also comes with a few new navigational aids to help players in their exploration of Hyrule. First is Hero’s Path Mode, which tracks your last 200 hours of playtime and then traces your steps on the game’s map, which should prove useful for making sure you’re not checking the same place twice while hunting down Koroks. A new item called the Travel Medallion is being added which, when located, will allow players to set a temporary fast travel location on the map.

Finally, a number of new armor pieces are being added to the game with many drawing inspiration from previous Zelda titles. The only piece to be thoroughly discussed both in terms of looks and function is the Korok Mask, which will shake in the presence of an undiscovered Korok. The other pieces include helmets and/or armor sets based on Tingle, Midna, Majora’s Mask, and a Phantom Knight. Hopefully the special features of these other pieces will be revealed sooner rather than later.

Unfortunately, despite releasing all of the above, Nintendo still has not announced an exact release date for the content and are sticking with an ambiguous “Summer 2017” time frame. Regardless, you can pre-purchase the DLC Expansion Pass now for $19.99.
