It’s not getting as much attention as it once did in the news, but the world is still in the midst of a pandemic thanks to the global spread of COVID-19. It has impacted numerous industries, including video games, halting the development of countless projects as a result. In a fun twist, however, Nintendo has revealed that as a byproduct of its workers being cooped up at home, a handful of developers have banded together to produce a new, free game: Jump Rope Challenge!
This simple game was created by a few Nintendo developers while working from home in Japan to add quick and fun physical movement into their daily life. Give it a try and get moving while at home! #JumpRopeChallengehttps://t.co/wa9gpMQYsx

Here’s how Nintendo describes the gameplay:
“By using a pair of Joy-Con controllers and imagining them as the handles of a jump rope, players can virtually jump rope every day. It’s all the fun of jumping, but there’s not a rope in sight! Two household members can jump in and play together to try to reach a high score, with each person holding one Joy-Con. With hopping bunnies as the characters, simple menus and no tutorials to jump through, it’s quick and easy to learn the ropes and get started.”
While there has been a lot of terrible things to come from this pandemic, it’s cool to see something positive come from it, even if it’s just a goofy fitness game. As noted above, Jump Rope Challenge costs no money, so give it a shot—although it probably won’t be very playable on a Switch Lite.
