Well, to say it’s a light week for the eShops would be an understatement. Thankfully, at least what’s on offer is worth a look, so let’s dive right in to this week’s batch of Nintendo downloadables!
Switch eShop
ACA NeoGeo Garou: Mark of the Wolves – $7.99 — Essentially Fatal Fury 4 in all but its name (well, except on Dreamcast where it was called that), Mark of the Wolves is an exceptional fighting game. Released at the height of 3D-mania, it eschewed the visual trends of the time and instead offered some of the most stunning 2D hand drawn art that NeoGeo could produce. Definitely give this one a look, along with the rest of the excellent ACA series by Hamster.
Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition – $29.99 — Minecraft has finally arrived on Switch! The world building game that’s beloved by millions of people across the globe is now on Nintendo’s hybrid console, which means that fans can look forward to truly playing Minecraft on the go for the first time. That’s right, I’m calling out the mobile version! This is the real deal on the road, people!
3DS eShop
Elliot Quest – $14.99 — Now this is a pleasant surprise: Elliot Quest has finally popped up on the 3DS eShop! We loved this Zelda II-inspired title in our review of the Wii U version, noting that “Elliot Quest offers one of the most entertaining and rewarding experiences an adventure game can offer.” It earned an A+! It’s not often we give out a perfect score, dear readers, so being able to play this incredible game on 3DS seems like a no-brainer.
PSA: Galaxy Fight: Universal Warriors Hits Switch Next Week
Yet another fighting game, but don’t let the frequency lull you into a false sense of contentment — all these titles are great in their own way and worthy of your attention. It’s great to see developer Hamster continue to release these titles for Switch, and thankfully there are more on the way, including Shock Troopers 2nd Squad, Last Resort, and the first Sengoku. Special thanks to Nintendo Everything for pointing this out!
That’s it for this week! Will you be buying any of this trio? Tell us in the comments!
