2024 has started out quite tragic for the people of Japan. A magnitude 7.6 earthquake struck the Noto Peninsula leaving a wake of devastation as a result. In an effort to help aid the company’s countrymen, Nintendo is donating ¥50 Million towards relief efforts via the Japanese Red Cross. Here is the announcement:
令和6年能登半島地震により被害を受けられました皆様に、心よりお見舞い申し上げます。…

Here’s a translation of the post on X:
We would like to express our deepest sympathies to everyone who was affected by the 2020 Noto Peninsula Earthquake.
We will provide free repairs for our products requested by people in areas where the Disaster Relief Act applies in response to the 2020 Noto Peninsula Earthquake for a period of 6 months from the application of the Disaster Relief Act in each region. In addition, we will donate 50 million yen through the Japanese Red Cross Society to support those affected by the disaster. Regarding repair requests from areas covered by the Disaster Relief Law following the 2020 Noto Peninsula Earthquake, please also see the following page.
We pray for the speedy recovery of all those affected.
Nintendo notes that it will also provide free repairs of its products for customers impacted in the area. Sometimes, small gestures can matter as much as the big ones, and for those needing a distraction from the hard times surrounding them, getting a console repaired can mean quite a lot.
The Pokémon Company has also made a ¥50 Million donation, along with other Japanese publishers in the wake of this disaster. Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Japan during this difficult time.
