We recently reported that Nintendo and animation studio Illumination would finally be showing off a teaser of the Super Mario Bros. movie on October 6 as part of New York Comic Con. Well, Nintendo isn’t keen on letting NYCC have all the fun, as the company announced that it will be hosting a special Nintendo Direct broadcast dedicated to the film that very same day. Nintendo Direct: The Super Mario Movie presentation will begin at 1:05 PM PST on 10.06.
Tune in at 1:05 p.m. PT on 10/6 for a #NintendoDirect: The Super Mario Bros. Movie presentation introducing the world premiere trailer for the upcoming film (no game information will be featured).

At its base is a small village of some sort, filled with Toads milling about (notice that coming from the antique shop in the image the Toads are carrying Super Mario Bros. 3 items!). Finally, in the foreground with his back to the camera is the man himself: Mario, who is looking up at the castle on the hilltop. The rendering is genuinely gorgeous—bask in its glory:
