Little Town Hero is a new title by Game Freak where players (go with it for a second) fight Monsters. Okay, that might sound a lot like Pokémon, but in truth Little Town Hero seems quite a bit different. For one thing, players are confined to a small, isolated village with a castle blocking the way to the outside world. Residents can’t leave, but when a Monster appears for the first time, the protagonist’s curiosity about what lies beyond becomes overwhelming. He begins to take on the fiends himself and hopes to understand the secret of the village he calls home.
Unlike similar RPGs, there’s no need to grind in Little Town Hero. Instead, players must utilize their moves carefully in order to overcome enemies and bosses. Battles revolve around creativity and developing new ideas to survive. Interestingly, Game Freak and Nintendo have also described the game as having “compact story progression designed with the busy gamer in mind.” Further adding to the intrigue here is that Toby Fox, creator of Undertale, helped compose the music for Little Town Hero. Between this, Deltarune, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (where he did the music for the Sans costume), Toby is very busy!
Little Town Hero launches on October 15 and is available now for pre-purchase. Will you be giving it a look? Share with us in the comments and on social media!
