There had been some rumblings that the series might be making a comeback, and during today’s Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase it was revealed that Endless Ocean is indeed returning. Endless Ocean Luminous will come exclusively to Nintendo Switch on May 2, 2024. Here’s your first look at the game:
Much like the two Nintendo Wii entries that precede it, Endless Ocean Luminous sets players loose in the depths to find all sorts of sea creatures to learn about. In this game there are over 500 species to spot, as players poke around the Veiled Sea they can bring along 30 other players with them. Purchase of Endless Ocean Luminous also grants players a free seven-day trial of Nintendo Switch Online so they can try out the game’s multiplayer with no strings attached. Nintendo also claims that the game’s underwater locales “[change] with each expedition,” so players should be busy for a while.
