Nintendo 2DS Gets a Price Drop

A steal at $99!

Nintendo announced a price cut today for their surprisingly popular 2DS handheld. Priced previously at $129.99, today’s price cut means that you can now pick one up for a mere $99.99. The handheld isn’t a as a stand-alone pack, either; a digital download of Mario Kart 7 will still come bundled with the system!

Apologies to all those who purchased the 2DS yesterday and are now weeping at this news, but I have to say this is an absolute bargain! The 2DS was initially met with some skepticism when it was announced back in 2013. A 3DS system but without the 3D element and no clamshell design left Nintendo fans somewhat bemused to say the least. However, two years later and with 2.1 million units sold, it just goes to show that there are players out there who may not care for 3D gaming, but still want to enjoy Nintendo’s handheld offerings.

Do you plan on checking out the system now that Nintendo has instituted a price drop? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
