During the last Nintendo Direct Mini broadcast it was revealed that GungHo Online Entertainment’s upcoming Ninja Gum action game Ninjala will be hitting Nintendo Switch on May 27. Ninjala looks to be in the spirit of Splatoon and ARMS, with zany, over the top characters and action, all battled out in a variety of arenas. For those who are curious about Ninjala but are maybe reluctant to commit to a purchase prior to launch, you’re in luck, as GungHo will be hosting an open beta for the game next week.
To access the open beta, simply head to the Nintendo Switch eShop in order to get set up. Here’s what the press release has to say about the event:
The open beta will feature the eight-player battle royale mode and a training mode. During the open beta, players will be able to try out four of the 12 weapons that will be available at launch, the Ippon Katana, Drill Beat, SK8 Hammer, and Trick Ball. Players can access the Ninjala beta from the Nintendo eShop with an internet connection and a Nintendo account. A Nintendo Switch Online subscription is not required to play Ninjala.
Before we sign off, here’s a dev diary from GungHo to get a little more insight into the game and what to expect in the beta. They provide an overview of the eight-player battle royale mode, the 4-v-4 team mode, and other game features including Shinobi Energy, Drones, IPPON, and Parry:
