Yesterday, Nintendo released a new system update that, in addition to the usual bug fixes and tweaks, adds several interesting features including some that are quite clever and useful! We’ve included some of the bigger additions below!
- Probably the most notable addition is the new “Find Controllers” feature, which will activate the rumble of all synced controllers within range of the console. So, should you misplace a Joy-Con, activate the feature and listen for the rumble!
- Several tweaks have been made to your friends list as well, such as turning notifications off for when friends log online as well as adding friends from your existing Wii U and 3DS friends lists.
- If you try to download new content when your memory is full the system will suggest deleting existing data.
- The Pro Controller now supports a wired connection, though the built-in NFC will not work while plugged in.
- Volume can now be set in the system settings menu and volume limits can be placed when the head phone jack is being used.
- Six Splatoon characters have been added to the selection of user icons.
- You can now follow game specific news feeds for select titles.
