The Pokémon Company’s steady stream of info for Pokémon: Let’s Go: Pikachu! and Eevee continued this morning with another brand-new trailer. This time, the focus is on the original trio of legendary birds, as well as the game’s connectivity with Pokémon Go.
Wild Pokémon encounters in Pokémon: Let’s Go are similar to those in Pokémon Go, but legendary encounters will differ. It had been previously reported that these would be actual battles, but there is an interesting difference from the original games: apparently, legendary Pokémon must actually be knocked out before players will have the opportunity to capture them. As many longtime Pokémon fans can attest, this eliminates one of the more frustrating moments from the original games, in which players that didn’t know any better accidentally knocked out a Pokémon that they wouldn’t be able to capture later on.
Replacing the Safari Zone near Fuchsia City, Go Parks allow players to transfer Pokémon from Pokémon Go. While we had previously heard that the Alolan forms of Kanto Pokémon would appear in Pokémon: Let’s Go, this new trailer might be the first time we’ve actually seen them appear in-game! It’s also interesting to see that there is no limit to how many accounts can transfer Pokémon to the games. Since the title is meant to bring in new fans, is would stand to reason that older Go players could use that feature to help out younger fans.
We’ll continue reporting on Pokémon: Let’s Go: Pikachu! and Eevee! as their release date approaches. Stay tuned to Nintendojo for more as it develops!
