While many fans were no doubt excited for today’s scheduled Nintendo Direct presentation, outside events have convinced the publisher to announce a postponement. This morning, an earthquake in Hokkaido, Japan claimed the lives of at least nine people, which led Nintendo to announce a temporary delay for the festivities. We’ll have more information regarding a new date and time for the presentation as it develops.

Last week, Nintendo released two video presentations: a Nindies Summer Showcase and a Mobile Direct focused on Dragalia Lost. This week, the publisher will air yet another presentation, this time focused on “upcoming Switch and 3DS titles!”
With just a few months left in the year, Nintendo’s publishing slate seems fairly full: Super Mario Party, Luigi’s Mansion, Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Eevee and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate are all currently scheduled for release before the end of 2018. Since all of these games have already gotten a significant amount of focus, it’s likely that the 35 minute presentation will focus on titles releasing next year. Hopefully we’ll see some big announcements!
The presentation is scheduled to air Thursday September 6 at 3 PM PT. Stay tuned to Nintendojo for more information following the Direct!
