It may seem like ages ago now, but when Wii Fit hit the market, it set off a wave of fitness focused games. While few of those titles garnered the regard of Nintendo’s offering, more than a few were still able to sell their fair share of copies. Apparently, one of those titles was Shape Boxing, because it was successful enough to spawn a successor for Switch.
In Fitness Boxing, players grab the Joy-Cons and mimic the onscreen boxing action. The main feature of the game is its instructional content which is supposed to be good both for exercise as well as learning actual boxing form. However, for those wanting something a little gamier in their video games, there is also a rhythm game featuring 20 songs and support for multiplayer including both cooperative and competitive play.
Judging by the list of Japanese voice actors for the optional virtual coaches, it looks like the announcement is primarily geared toward the Japanese release, so we’ll have to wait for more information concerning other markets.
