Arms received its first big update on July 11 and it introduces plenty of new features for players to enjoy.
Max Brass, the “reigning champion” of Arms’ Grand Prix tournament and the final boss in single player, is now a playable fighter. He has a well-rounded style that is similar to Spring Man, although he is rather more bulky. Max also brings with him three new arms for players to experiment with: the Nade, Roaster and Kablammer.
The update also introduces Hedlok Scramble, a new mode which sees two players fighting to take control of Hedlok, the parasitic playable helmet. Hedlok adds two extra arms to character it is attached to and players can steal the living helmet from their opponent by landing throws or powerful hits. This is definitely a mode worth trying when you want a break from Ranked Mode!
Speaking of Ranked Mode, the update increases the top rank from 15 to 20, which should please fans who have already hit rank 15. It also unlocks the new Sky Arena stage which, with its wide open space, is a competitive player’s dream. Ranked players can also expect to see penalties levied against players who disconnect mid-game, although the exact details of the penalties are not detailed in the update notes.
Alongside the new content, the update also includes numerous balance changes which you can read in full in the patch notes here.
Arms, Switch’s spring-centric fighting game, was released on June 16 and you can enjoy the version 2.0 update right now.
