Last week, Netflix released the first season of Castlevania, and the reception honestly couldn’t be much better. The series has received near universal acclaim and Netflix has already renewed the series for a second season. In a recent interview with Nintendo Life, the show’s producer, Adi Shankar, discussed which video game series he’d most like to adapt next, and his answer should be of particular interest to Nintendo fans!

What other video game series would you like to adapt?

Dark Metroid in the same anime style.

Part of the appeal of Metroid has always been the solitary nature of the games, and any attempts to make the games more cinematic have left a bit to be desired. The franchise has, however, been the subject of a number of adaptation rumors over the last decade or so. Little has obviously ever come of those rumors, but the success of Netflix’s Castlevania series and Nintendo’s recently renewed interest in the Metroid franchise could make the project a bit more likely! Perhaps this time the stars will finally align for Samus Aran.

Do you think a Metroid adaptation could work? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
