In the last Smash Bros. Direct before the release of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Nintendo showed off footage from the new Adventure Mode: World of Light and it has now revealed the name of that mode’s villain.
In the footage, the game’s fighters stand poised on a cliff, looking out at hundreds of Master Hands floating towards them in the sky, and a mass of multicolored wings hovering in place. As they prepare to fight, ribbons of light burst from the wings and zoom towards the fighters, disintegrating them and turning them into spirits — only Kirby manages to escape on his Warp Star.
The name of the villain responsible for the attack has been revealed on the official Super Smash Bros. Ultimate site (spoiler warning ahead for players who would rather wait until the game’s release to learn the name).
The following blurb is taken from the site:
Meet the fiend known as Galeem. Fighters and spirits will have to team up to stop him before it’s too late!
Super Smash Bros. Brawl players will likely remember that Tabuu was the enemy that was responsible for throwing the world into chaos in Adventure Mode: The Subspace Emissary.
What did you think of the World of Light reveal trailer? Will you be picking up Super Smash Bros. Ultimate when it launches on December 7?
