It was announced about three years ago that Sony would no longer be the exclusive home to MLB The Show. The popular baseball sim, which is developed internally by Sony, had only been available to PlayStation owners up until last year’s release of MLB The Show 21. While Xbox owners were finally able to experience Sony’s delightful take on the MLB, Nintendo fans were left wondering if that vague tweet from Nintendo of America in 2019 was all for naught.

As it turns out, the wait for proper baseball on Nintendo Switch is finally nearing an end. On April 5, MLB The Show 22 will be coming to the console. Here’s a look at the cover star for this year’s installment, Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Angels:

Switch owners who have been stuck with the scaled back rehashes of FIFA every year are likely going to be curious what this version of The Show will bring their way. According to the game’s eShop listing, Switch players are in store for the full-bodied version of MLB The Show 22. Diamond Dynasty (The Show’s online mode where players can build their own dream team to play with) and cross-platform play are both included. It looks like there will be a mandatory 17GB download for the game, so be sure to clear some space in your system’s memory.

This writer is looking forward to playing Oakland A’s games on the go, but what say you, dear readers? Who’s ready to play The Show this spring on their Nintendo Switch? Tell us down in the comments!
