Shigeru Miyamoto once said “a delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad.” While that’s certainly true, fans awaiting the release of Mighty No. 9 will likely find it of little comfort. This morning, producer Keiji Inafune announced another delay for the much-anticipated title.
Mighty No. 9 was expected to arrive this February, but has now slipped to a much more ambiguous “spring” release date. According to Inafune, bugs related to the title’s multiplatform release are to blame for this most recent delay, as well as a lack of updates for Unreal Engine 3. Considering that the title is scheduled to release for a number of different consoles, it’s unsurprising that some issues would crop up.
Unfortunately, this is now the third delay Mighty No. 9 fans and backers have been forced to endure. The game has received a fair share of negative attention, of late. Between the delays and Inafune’s baffling failed Kickstarter for Red Ash, it would seem that patience for the project, not to mention developer Comcept, has worn a bit thin. Still, fans looking for something similar to Mega Man don’t have much to look forward to outside of rereleases and merchandise. Hopefully Mighty No. 9 will help to fill that particular void once it finally sees release.

I feel bad for all the fans eagerly awaiting this title, including the Kickstarter backers. Very frustrating and I hope it turns out well in the long run.
As a die-hard Castlevania fan, my fingers are crossed that Bloodstained doesn’t follow a similar rocky road to completion.
Well, that frees up some money for a bit. I hope the game turns out great with all the delays.
So annoying, but it’ll save me a little cash in the meantime, at least. It better be worth the wait!
