At today’s Nintendo Digital Conference, the company announced a new title in the Metroid Prime franchise. Metroid Prime: Federation Force will bring four-player co-operative gameplay to Nintendo 3DS. We’ve mirrored the trailer below for your viewing pleasure!
Interestingly enough, Blast Ball, which made its debut at the Nintendo World Championships over the weekend, will also be included with the title. Many fans on Sunday pointed out the game’s similar style to Metroid Prime, and now it looks like there’s good reason for that!
Sadly, it doesn’t appear as though Samus Aran will be appearing in the title itself! Unfortunately, Nintendo did not provide much information on the game just yet, so it might be too soon to say. Metroid Prime: Federation Force has a tentative 2016 release date. Stay tuned to Nintendojo for more information as it develops.
Ouch. Metroid Prime: Not Really
Yeah, I don’t think anyone who was hoping for a new Metroid game today was too thrilled with this. That said, branding issues aside, I think it actually looks pretty fun, and I’m definitely willing to give it the benefit of the doubt.
What Kevin said. If the gameplay is as good as it looks, and they give it a solid reason for existing in the Metroid universe, I can be sold.
Noticed no mention of online play…. Not liking that.
Ugh….
It actually does mention online play over at Nintendo’s E3 website, so that at least looks promising: http://e3.nintendo.com/games/3ds/metroid-prime-federation-force/
Awesome! Thanks for pointing that out. Got scared when they didn’t point that out. Made me think it was local only.
