If you’re anything like this writer, you keep your eyes open not just for all the games that come out from Nintendo, but also the merchandise adorned with everything from smiling, mustachioed plumbers to stumpy, scowling Goombas. The former is the topic of today’s revelation, which is that Mattel will be selling a special Metal Mario racer as part of its upcoming Super Mario Hot Wheels lineup. Give him a look:
Pretty great, right? There’s a catch, of course (because there always has to be a catch when it comes to awesome merchandise like this), which is that the toy is only available through Mattel’s website and for those in attendance at San Diego Comic-Con 2019. If you head to the website right now, you’ll see a live countdown to what Mattel is calling its SDCC Pre-Sale, which begins promptly on July 17. If you’re hoping to snag a Metal Mario without either going to the show or dealing with eBay scalpers, be sure to bookmark the page and be ready to pounce as soon as the sale begins.
