Update: Capcom officially announced today a May 22 release date for Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 + 2. The title will retail for $39.99 and include a cartridge containing the first Mega Man Legacy, while the second will be included as a digital download code, similar to the company’s release of Resident Evil: Revelations. The compilations can also be purchased separately on the eShop for $14.99 and $19.99, respectively. The physical version will also include a nifty screen cleaning cloth featuring the blue bomber and friends.

Fans have been waiting on tenterhooks since it was announced that both Mega Man Legacy Collection and Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 are heading to Switch. Considering the bulk of the games in each collection originally appeared on Nintendo consoles, it only makes sense to let fans experience those games on that company’s current flagship system. Interestingly, while the Nintendo faithful will indeed be getting their hands on the two Legacy Collection titles, they might not have to make more than one purchase to do so.
According to the ESRB rating, Capcom has combined the pair of games into a single package for Nintendo Switch dubbed Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 & 2. ESRB ratings tend to only be published when an actual game is in the pipeline, so it’s unlikely that this is a typo. It could be a simple combination of ratings for the two separate titles, but generally the ESRB always assigns an individual rating for each game it rates.
