In the latest Direct, Nintendo shared the first set of details for upcoming Mario Kart World modes: Time Trial, VS (Versus), and Battle Mode. Yup! Three exciting modes that players can enjoy and switch between.
Time Trial is set for players to race three laps in various courses against ghost characters collected by data from other players. Making a return to Mario Kart World, Battle Mode brings two classic games — balloon and coin battles. Between these two, drivers either have to compete against popping each others balloons with items until it’s the last kart standing, or focus on collecting the most coins before time runs out.
Finally, good old VS (Versus) mode. Here, players can choose a speed class (50cc/100cc/150cc) as well as choose to be in a team (up to 4 teams total). Items, CPU difficulty, course selections, and number of races can also be customized. Then once Grand Prix and Survival have been unlocked, players can also choose to partake in those.
Mario Kart World is available on June 5, exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 for $79.99.
