After a succesful launch at Bandai Namco’s VR Zone in Tokyo last year, the Mario Kart GP VR experience is now heading to the UK this summer.
The game is a multiplayer only VR experience that has four players to sit in specially designed ‘karts’ wearing HTC Vive VR headsets which allows them to race through iconic Mushroom Kingdom locations. The set-up also includes the Vive’s controllers, so you can reach up to grab items, and you can see it in action below.
The experience will initially be available to try this August in the O2 Arena in London, and will eventually be rolled out to other sites in Tumbridge Wells and leeds. Of course, you’ll need to book a place in advance, and can find the details for this on the official website.
While there were initially rumors that Switch may offer opportunities for virtual reality games, it seems that this wasn’t to be the case. Still, experiences like this always make us wonder what a full-fledged VR game from Nintendo might look like.
