For those not in the know, while Western fans are limited to downloading Capcom’s Phoenix Wright series from the 3DS eShop, Japanese players continue to have the option of enjoying the series in both digital and physical forms. In that region, Phoenix Wright remains a blazing hot commodity, so it only makes sense that Capcom would want to capitalize on the series’ popularity as much as possible.
What’s less clear at the moment is how Capcom saw fit to bundle the first six Ace Attorney games in a special collector’s edition that retails for roughly $1,365! Even for the most diehard of fans, that’s a ton of money to put together. Here’s what comes inside the box:
- Ace Attorney 1 through 6
- Sheet signed by designer Shu Takumi
- Unique box
- Ace Attorney 4 soundtrack on CD
- 15th anniversary plate made from 7 grams of gold
- 15 postcards
- Postcard box signed by art director Takuro Fuse
It’s pretty awesome, honestly, and it’s evident that the extreme asking price is owed to the gold plate it comes with, which means it’s possible Capcom could produce something similar that doesn’t cost as much. Here’s hoping that an Ace Attorney Premium Edition of some sort comes our way one day… but it doesn’t seem likely! Objection!
