Diablo III: Eternal Collection just arrived on Switch this past Friday, but eagle-eyed data miners had already discovered a very juicy secret before then: the game would be getting Amiibo support. Although Amiibo hadn’t been previously announced by either Nintendo or Blizzard, the data miners discovered that there’s code for what seems to be three (how fitting) Diablo III Amiibo for use in the game. Well, during Blizzcon, Blizzard pulled back the curtain on at least one: its upcoming Loot Goblin Amiibo:
Where there are goblins, there is treasure to be found! Summon your own portal to untold riches with the exclusive #DiabloSwitch Loot Goblin amiibo – available Dec 2018! pic.twitter.com/jLe4vMmkcH

There’s no specific release date for the figurine beyond this December, but we’ll update when we learn more. Note that Loot Goblin is able to be preordered and available for purchase exclusively through GameStop’s website. This is a first for any Amiibo figurine to date. The listing notes that the figurine unlocks an in-game portal, but neither the GameStop description nor Blizzard’s Twitter post specify anything beyond that.
