It seems like ages ago that Nintendo released Nintendogs on DS and not only helped expand their audience to more casual gamers, but also gave the virtual pet concept a big update beyond the era of Tamogatchi or Pocket Pikachu. Nintendo has yet to bring their franchise to Switch, so that means there is currently an opening in the market and Little Friends: Dogs and Cats is looking to fill it.
The game gives you six dog breeds as well as three different types of kittens to choose from and raise. Of course, you’ll have to take care of, feed, and play with them and each pet will have its own preferences you’ll want to consider in order to maximize your friendship. You can also dress up your animal with over 600 articles of clothing. While the game can be played in handheld or docked mode, playing handheld allows you to use the touchscreen to pet your doggo or kitty, so that’ll probably be the cutest way to play.
Little Friends: Dogs and Cats is being developed by Imagineer and published by Sold Out and it will be released both physically and digitally on May 28.
