Do you think Japan gets all the coolest special edition consoles? Well, you’re right, and this latest bit of news just further cements that fact.
Japan is getting a Super Famicom-themed New 3DS XL that already looks great, but the box it comes in is all the better because it’s a loving tribute to the classic 16-bit console. See for yourself:
Maybe we could complain and demand equitable treatment, but the original SNES’s grey and purple design isn’t nearly as appealing, and its box featured some of the least creative examples of product photography ever to be tied into what was, at the time, a cutting edge entertainment device. Of course, if you’re will to pay the import costs and 20,000 yen, you could just buy the Super Famicom 3DS.
