Norwegian outfit InkyPen made waves with the launch of its self-titled app on Nintendo Switch this past December. The service came boasting comics from publishers like Dark Horse, IDW, and more, making it the first application of its ilk on the platform. Still, while a welcome addition to Switch’s non-gaming apps, InkyPen wasn’t content to rest on its laurels.

According to InkyPen, fans can now take advantage of an “ever-growing” selection of free comics alongside its paid content. Here’s the breakdown from InkyPen itself:

“A brand new patch has been added to the app today, fixing bugs and adding features including a selection of free comics and the ability to easily browse the catalog on the Nintendo Switch without subscribing or signing
up.”

And for our Manga-loving fans:

“InkyPen keeps expanding adding another few hundred comics today from existing publishers with new publishers coming onboard in the weeks ahead. As for future additions, Ronan Huggard, CEO of InkyPen, confirms that expanding the Manga selection is the company’s main priority. ‘We’re Manga fans like many of our users, and we are excited to be talking to many Manga publishers and hope to get more on board soon.'”

That’s some pretty cool news for those looking to read comics on Switch’s big, bright touch screen. Will you be giving InkyPen a whirl after reading this news? Share below and on social media!
