Tetris Effect: Connected is a unique spin on the beloved falling-block puzzle game. Developed by the people who produced Lumines, which is also one of the greatest puzzle games ever made, Tetris Effect: Connected is a visual and aural experience to behold. What’s more, there are a number of modes designed to bring players together. You can get a glimpse of it in action in this trailer:

Here’s the lowdown on what to expect from the game:

  • Includes the “Zone” mechanic, where players can stop time (and Tetriminos falling) by entering “the Zone” and either get out of a sticky situation that could otherwise lead to “Game Over,” or rack up extra line clears for bonus rewards.
  • Multiplayer mode “Zone Battle,” which shakes up traditional 1-on-1 Tetris gameplay via the time-stopping Zone mechanic made famous in Tetris Effect.
  • A “Connected” co-op mode, where up to three players can literally connect their Tetris playfields together and play as one.

Tetris Effect: Connected brings 30 different stages, ranked and unranked online play, Spectator Mode where up to eight people can sit back and watch, and Cross-Platform Multiplayer (Tetris Effect is also available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One). This is lauded as one of the most beautiful games in recent years and this writer is extremely pumped to finally see it come to Switch. Will you be playing? Tell us down below!
