Hyrule Warriors to Receive Amiibo Support

Link figure to be integrated into the game.

The list of games, both new and already released, that will support Amiibos has steadily been growing, and now Hyrule Warriors has joined their ranks.

Nintendo made a very short Tweet stating that Link’s Amiibo will be made compatible with the game and that more details will be coming eventually. Since that is really the gist of the whole message, we will have to wait and see to learn more. I personally hope we will see the Zelda Amiibo supported as well, along with announcements of at least a Sheik and Ganondorf being added to the Amiibo line, which would only make sense seeing how both are already in Super Smash Bros.

Stay tuned for more on this story.

I’m still not quite sure I understand what Amiibo actually do, considering the fact that the characters are already in the game (this goes for SSB too). Do they add abilities or switch characters in the heat of battle?
