Switch owners looking forward to HORI’s enticing Mario Kart Racing Wheel are in luck! The company has announced that the peripheral will release soon in territories outside of Japan. Fans in North America will be able to pick one up in just a few short weeks on November 2. The standard edition will retail for $69.99. Fans in the UK will have a bit longer to wait, however. The Mario Kart Racing Wheel will hit shelves across the pond January 2 at an asking price of £59.99.

Today, Mario Kart World Tour speeds on to iOS and Android devices. While those who prefer to play on Switch might be feeling a little left out, HORI has made an exciting announcement exclusively for the handheld hybrid. The company will be releasing a Mario Kart Racing Wheel, for use with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. The peripheral will exclusively work in docked mode, but a USB accessory will allow Switch Lite users to take it for a spin, as well.
The officially-licensed peripheral will be offered in two different flavors: standard and deluxe. The standard edition comes in Mario’s traditional red color, while the deluxe edition is a darker hue and comes with suction cups to prevent the wheel from slipping, alongside some other additions.
While the Mario Kart Racing Wheel looks like an awesome option for diehard Kart fans, the timing does seem a bit odd. After all, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has been out for some time now, and hasn’t had much in the way of updates since Nintendo added Labo support. Perhaps there’s something HORI knows that we don’t? Regardless, the Mario Kart Racing Wheel will be available in Japan this November. Preorders are currently available at Play-Asia for $75.99 and $136.99, depending on the model.
