Pokémon Sword and Shield are rapidly approaching their November 18 launch date but, until then, Nintendo is intent on making sure fans are as hyped for the two games as possible. Thus, this truly heartwarming and potentially emotionally devastating teaser trailer. Prepare your tissues just in case, dear readers:
It’s a really fun 30-second spot that does a lot with the storied history of the franchise. Seeing so many wonderful Pocket Monsters appear on-screen simultaneously like that… *sniffle.* In seriousness, it’s a real testament to what Pokémon represents to so many people that adverts like this can have such a powerful resonance.
More pressing, however, is the question as to whether or not all of the Pokémon seen here will be in the final games. With the National Pokédex having been truncated for Sword and Shield, there’s been a question as to which creatures will or won’t be around for these installments. Are these some of the returning faces? Guess we’ll find out next month!
