Since Nintendo generally takes a fair amount of time to produce Zelda titles, other developers are always welcome to put their own spin on that series’ familiar formula in the meantime. Titles like Ōkami, for instance, are born from studios that want to do something new and different, making gamers’ lives all the better as a result. Enter Aloft Studio and its upcoming Hazelnut Bastille, which it describes as “a topdown, Zelda-like ARPG, crafted in a 16bit character; it features action-adventure style gameplay.” Check out the trailer to get an idea of what the game is shaping up to be like:
Hazelnut Bastille is being funded via a Kickstarter campaign, one that has already proven successful; it currently sits at more than $88,000 and counting with an initial goal of $65,000. Now, Aloft is looking to flesh out a variety of stretch goals, which includes one for Nintendo Switch. The game is apparently already confirmed for the platform, but Aloft states that if the stretch goal for Nintendo’s hybrid console can be met, the developer will “also offer Switch copies at the earliest possible moment, hopefully at launch.” There certainly looks to be some promise for Hazelnut Bastille, so hopefully fans can help bring it to Switch even faster.
