About a million years ago in 2018, Atooi launched a very successful Kickstarter for its game Chicken Wiggle Workshop. A rejiggering of the 3DS title Chicken Wiggle, it was an ambitious expansion that incorporated a level editor into the experience where fans could go online and share their creations. Chicken Wiggle Workshop was rebranded Hatch Tales and has been in development ever since then—that’s about five years ago for those keeping score.
Now, Atooi has revealed that Hatch Tails is finally ready to launch, and it’s not all that far off: March 28, 2024. In a message to backers of the campaign, Atooi states that the game will be releasing to coincide with the sixth anniversary of the Kickstarter campaign. The message provides a handy summary of what to expect from Hatch Tales when it comes to Switch:
Hatch Tales is a stylish 2D platformer with climbing mechanics featuring Hatch, a flightless hawk mountaineer, who uses his trusty grappling hook to climb up mountains, stun enemies, and zip across chasms!
Atooi is also promising a media event where fans will be able to get a closer look at the ins and outs of Hatch Tales. Once the date for that is revealed, we’ll be sure to share it with all of you.
