While some title changes and rights ownership issues might have temporarily confused gamers, the Story of Seasons franchise emerged as the game of choice for longtime Harvest Moon fans. Now, it would appear that it might be the place to go for Hamtaro fans as well.
The next entry in the farming sim series, Story of Seasons: Cherished Friends of Three Towns, will feature an appearance from Hamtaro, an adorable hamster who has been the star of many an anime, video game, comic, and toy line over the course of the last two decades. The little guy will be a pet in the game, though it is unclear what else he’ll do aside from drastically boost the amount of cute on screen. However, at the very least it was announced that the critter will be voiced by his long time voice actress, Kurumi Mamiya.
While never as popular as he was in Japan, Hamtaro did see some crossover success in Western markets, so his is a brand many gamers should recognize. The game will be released in Japan on June 23, but no release date has been confirmed for foreign markets. Hopefully it’ll get over here sooner or later to see how gamers around the world react to the little guy.
