Whether you’ve never heard about it or have experienced it before, the excellent Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition is now available for download on Nintendo Switch. What’s even better is the fact that the sequel, Guacamelee! 2, will also be arriving on the platform later this year.
Developer by Drinkbox Studios, the Guacamelee! games feature classic Metroidvania style gameplay wrapped up in a cartoony aesthetic based on two iconic Mexican traditions, lucha libre wrestling and the Dia de Muertos festival. This unique concept allows for lots of clever gameplay as well as some great humor, so it should come as little surprise that both titles have been incredibly well-received.
The first game can be purchased right now, but we’ll have to wait a little while longer for the sequel, unfortunately.
