The renaissance of licensed game remasters continues with the release of Gargoyles Remastered. Developed by Empty Clip Studios, this new take on the Disney Software original brings the game to Nintendo Switch with redrawn visuals that bring the graphics in line very closely with the animated series. Those who want to experience its original, pixelated glory can alternate at will between the two visual styles, as well as take advantage of other modern amenities like instant rewind and widescreen presentation.

While certainly not one of the most beloved games ever made, the original Gargoyles does have a cult following, especially thanks to its gorgeous pixel art. It’s delightful to see some of these licensed oldies being brought back into the limelight and given a chance to shine with a new generation of gamer.
