For all of you fan fiction enthusiasts (and writers) out there, Ganondorf’s last name has been known for years now. Indeed, even some of those of us who don’t regularly indulge in tales like The Hyrulian Valhalla Saga or How Zelda Got Her Groove Back still knew the evil fiend’s last name thanks to The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past player’s guide. As for the rest of the Zelda fan community, however, it might come as a bit of a surprise to learn that Ganon’s last name is Dragmire!
(Cue dramatic thunderclap!)
In all seriousness, if you’ve been paying attention to the official Legend of Zelda webpage, you might have noticed that Ganon’s last name has been unceremoniously dropped for everyone to know. Again, he was referred to as Dragmire back in the A Link to the Past player’s guide, but considering that was over twenty years ago now and hasn’t been mentioned since… well, let’s just call this new-old news.
