Over the last few years, a new take on multiplayer gaming has been making the rounds throughout the industry. Instead of two even teams competing for the same goal, some games allow one player to assume control of a significantly stronger character as they face off against an entire team gunning for (or running from) them. Naturally, this formula is pretty much ideal for horror movie slasher villains, and that’s why Friday the 13th: The Game came into existence, and soon it will be on Switch.
In the latest video game take on the classic movie series, a group of players assume the role of camp counselors trying to evade the unstoppable killer Jason Voorhees as they try to gather the means to escape. Meanwhile, one player assumes the role of the killer as he stalks his prey, hunting them down as they hide and avoiding the traps they set to slow him down. Naturally, a progression system rewards continued play with new skins for Jason from many of the iconic films, as well as new counselors with unique abilities to help in the struggle to survive.
This version of the game features the Ultimate Slasher Switch Edition subtitle, so players can expect a content complete package featuring all of the game’s updates and DLC released since its initial launch on other systems. The game will be available sometime this spring.
