Yes, you read that right!
The final segment of today’s Nintendo Direct revealed yet another DLC bomb for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS: Cloud Strife, the broody protagonist from the beloved Final Fantasy VII will be joining the fray as the fifth (fifth!) third-party character to enter Smash Bros.! While the character’s release date is TBD, Cloud will come included with a stage based on Midgard (complete with stage-destroying Final Fantasy summons!) and a Chocobo Mii Fighter costume.
And that’s not all: a special presentation for future Smash DLC plans has been scheduled for next month! Details such as the exact date should arrive soon.
Was your mind blown?!? Let us know in the comments!

And that means a Cloud amiibo can’t be far behind!
I will use my girth to roll over crowds of people just to get it!
Is it wrong that I’m more excited about the event that was announced for next month than I am about the Cloud announcement? I never played FFVII and unless it releases on a Nintendo system (unlikely, though not impossible) I don’t really plan to.
They showed the logo for VII. It has to be in their head that it could work on Wii U. Sony doesn’t own the rights and based on this direct it seems relations have cooled between Nintendo and Square. It would be foolish not to keep pushing out the remakes on the only gaming publisher that seems to be showing the love for JRPGs this go around.
ViI for Wii U!
