Niantic has released a new update for Pokémon Go which introduces monsters from the Hoenn region as well as a brand new weather system.
Fifty third generation Pokémon are now available to catch, and more are planned to be introduced in the coming months. The game will now also feature a weather system, which will require players to brave the rain and snow in order to catch every monster.
As Trainers are exploring the world around them in search of Pokémon, the current weather in their vicinity will be visible on the in-game map. The real-world weather around Trainers will impact the gameplay of Pokémon GO in a variety of ways that include changing Pokémon habitats and where they can be found, increasing Combat Power, and earning more Stardust after catching a Pokémon.
Pokémon Go has received a number of updates since its launch in July 2016 which have introduced plenty of new mechanics and Pokémon into the mix.
Perhaps I’m in the minority, but I’d need a fairly large in-game incentive before I’d be willing to trek through the snow — I guess I am just not cut out to be a Pokémon master!
