If you’ve ever been curious about how Pokémon TCG cards are made, fansite PokéBeach has made quite a delightful discovery. The website has managed to get a hold of an internal development video produced by The Pokémon Company International and Millennium Print Group. Millennium is the manufacturer that The Pokémon Company has been working with since splitting ways with Wizards of the Coast many years ago. You can watch the full process in all its glory right here:

Essentially, all of the card details from Japan are sent over to the west for a point-by-point translation that covers everything from attack titles to the name of the particular Pocket Monster on a given card. Then the whole shebang is sent off to the pinters (with a single sheet capable of holding up to 121 individual cards), with every detail down to the texture and thickness of the cards themselves given minute levels of care and attention. It’s a very involved process that speaks to the level of care and commitment to quality that the Pokémon brand is known for. Tell us what you think down in the comments!
